[BLAST_SHIFTS] Compton Controls

I think I understand why compton hangs when the run is taken. It's the
same pesky problem with the TTimers. This is the same problems that
bugged caServer for a long time. Here it is even more severe since
there is more data to transfer to et from Compton .
Adam, you have dealt with this problem before. What was your solution?
