Based on discussions in the BLAST meeting this morning, the definition of
"electron" in the trigger file has changed. PHYS6 will count TOF AND
Cerenkov. PHYS5 will count TOF12-15 AND neutron. Neutron counters were
counting too fast, making accidentals with TOFs and swamping us with
"electrons" that really weren't electrons.
The old PHYS5 of TOF with no Cerenkov and no neutron is no longer an event
type.
newphys.settings has been updated, as has newphys.README. Old newphys
(from 2/20) is labeled newphys_022504.settings.
When Michael is done with neutron timing in the D Tunnel, he will reload
newphys.settings to pick up these changes.
Note -- since 2/20, prescale factors have been
PHYS3 100
PHYS5 1000
PHYS6 2
May be able to get away with a smaller prescale on 5 and 6, given new
definitions.
Also note -- PHYS4 is unused. It will be a Left/Right coincidence
involving at least one BATS.
